Bought as a Christmas gift for my son in law.

We use this light at home and rely on it when the power goes out. Bright enough to read by. So bright!

The Luxpro LP476 lantern has quickly become my go-to light source for everything from navigating power outages to late-night backyard adventures. It's compact and easy to handle, measuring about 6 5/8" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter, with a comfortable rubberized grip and handle. The rubberized base is a great feature too, as it prevents the lantern from slipping on uneven surfaces.  This lantern is incredibly bright, boasting 1000 lumens on its highest setting. It offers three white light modes (low, medium, and high) and a red light mode, which is supposed to be helpful for preserving night vision (though I haven't been able to fully test that feature yet). The glow-in-the-dark button is a nice touch, making it easy to find the on/off switch in the dark.  I especially appreciate how lightweight and comfortable this lantern is to hold. It's much easier to manage than a traditional flashlight, and the handle makes it convenient to carry or hang. The battery life is impressive too, with up to 90 hours of runtime on low.Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Luxpro LP476. It's a reliable and versatile lantern that's perfect for camping, emergencies, or just having around the house. I highly recommend it!

The Luxpro lantern is about 6 5/8" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter. The handle swings up and is a half circle that fits your hand nicely. It has a rough rubberized coating so it stays firmly in your hand. The bottom of the lantern has a rubberized bottom so if you have to put it on a slippery surface, it will most likely stay put. I placed it on a lid of a mildly curved garbage can lid and it did not move. It takes 3 "C" size batteries and has three light illuminations and one red illumination. The light modes are low, medium and high and the red light is to effectively see in the dark according to the packaging. The "on" button is glow in the dark. Might night vision has diminished, so I appreciate a good lantern/light. When I tried the red light, I did not notice that it was easier to see but I was in a neighborhood that I could not have complete darkness and my eyesight may play a role. This is a perfect light for me, I will keep by the backdoor for safety. It is comfortable in my hand and not heavy, easier to hold than a flashlight. Would make a great and useful gift.
